Ideas for your ceremony
|
For those couples who may not want to use a unity candle but want a photo opportunity of equal and exceptional value, wine sharing is an excellent alternative. The best place for a wine sharing is toward the end, after the exchange of vows and rings. The groom pours wine or champagne for his bride and himself. Beautiful music plays or a soloist sings as the couple share this private moment with their guests looking on. After this, they may present roses to their mothers if that option is used. Wine sharing can be used in place of a unity candle lighting for an outdoor ceremony or it can be used in addition to a unity candle at the end of the ceremony.
The reading (can be done by a friend or relative) The years of our lives are a cup of wine poured out for us to drink. The grapes when they are pressed give forth their good juices for the wine. Under the wine press of time, our lives give forth their labor and honor and love. The years of life ahead have much happiness, joy, hope and goodness, of which this sweet wine is a token. As you share the wine together, so may you share your lives. Many days you will sit at the same table and eat and drink together. Drink now, and may the cups of your lives be sweet and full to running over.
