The Rose Ceremony for Parents

The Rose Presentation ceremony usually works best when performed near the beginning of the ceremony shortly after the Greeting. However, I have performed it after the exchange of the wedding rings as well and it works wonderfully. It is a beautiful way to pay tribute to the parents who have helped to bring you to this moment. Wherever you decide to place the Rose ceremony, it is the perfect way to show your love, appreciation and respect for your parents.

Today as we are gathered here, __________ and ________ will join their lives and their families together. Her family will become his and his family will become hers. Like a garden well tended, their marriage will grow more lovely with each passing year. It will become their refuge in uncertain times and a place of celebration for the significant moments of their lives. Their marriage will be strengthened by the triumphs and challenges they will face, just as flowers are nourished by the sunshine and the rain.

__________ and ________, your wedding is a special celebration for your parents. As you were growing up, your parents gave you love and guided you through all your trials. Their love for you has brought them both great happiness and great challenges. Your wedding is also a celebration of family. It is the blending of two families, separate up to this moment, but united from this day forward, blending their different traditions and strengthening the family tree. Parents plant so that their children may harvest. As you embrace one another in your love, so too do you embrace the families that have been brought together on this happy occasion.

__________ and ________ are so grateful to have met each other and realize their own capacity to love and be loved was shaped by some very exceptional peopleā€¦ their parents. __________ and ________ would each like to acknowledge the love and sacrifice that their parents have made to make their children who they are today, a man and woman who are ready to be in a committed, loving marriage of their own.

__________ and ________ wish to honor their parents and the blending of the families and thank them for the many selfless sacrifices they have made and for their unconditional love. As a token of their gratitude for their parents, _________ and ________ would like to offer roses to their mothers as a symbols of their eternal love.
